2023 NFL Draft: Last-minute draft betting props, including the over on 1.5 running backs in Round 1

Alabama running back Jahmyr Gibbs (1) looks for yards during a game between Tennessee and Alabama in Neyland Stadium, on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022. Tennesseevsalabama1015 2519

• Take the under on 4.5 QBs to go in Round 1: Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud, Will Levis and Anthony Richardson are virtual locks, but Hendon Hooker doesn't seem likely to sneak in.

• Take the over on 1.5 RBs to go in Round 1: Jahmyr Gibbs has been the hottest name in the first-round conversation leading up to Day 1.

Total Number of QBs Drafted in Round 1: 4.5

  • Over: (-215)
  • Under: (+158)

With the general consensus around draft media evaluators being that four passers — Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud, Will Levis and Anthony Richardson — are heavily favored to be drafted in Round 1, the real question behind this line is: Does a franchise pull the trigger on Hendon Hooker?

Although Hooker is a talented player, it seems unlikely he will go this early due to his age and recovery from ACL surgery. There are a couple of narratives being floated around through media reports in regard to Hooker going in the mid-to-late first round, but PFF’s Brad Spielberger explained last week why they don’t make a ton of sense.

Pick: Under 4.5 QBs in Round 1

Total Number of RBs Drafted in Round 1: 1.5

  • Over: (-215)
  • Under: (+158)

Everyone and their dog knows Bijan Robinson is going in the first round — potentially within the first 10 or so picks. The real back highlighted in this line is Alabama’s Jahmyr Gibbs, who has been linked to a number of teams late in the first round.

Gibbs is widely regarded as the best receiving back in the class. Over his career at both Georgia Tech and Alabama, Gibbs dropped just two of 105 catchable targets. That ability is highly valued in the modern NFL, as teams pass more than ever. Going down the list of teams picking in the back half of the first, only a handful wouldn’t have some sort of interest in that type of skill set. Although the over doesn’t carry immense value, it’s the right call.

Pick: Over 1.5 RBs in Round 1
