  • On the initial depth chart the Minnesota Vikings released Monday, rookie second-round pick RB Dalvin Cook was listed as the starter at his position.
  • Cook was PFF’s No. 1 RB prospect in the 2017 draft and No. 9 overall player for his game-breaking elusiveness. He ranked first in the draft class with an elusive rating of 129.4, forcing 99 combined missed tackles in the run and pass game last season.
  • The Florida State product showcased his ability to change the course of a game ranking 18th in the draft class with a 45.1 breakaway percentage (percentage of yards on runs of 15-plus yards).
  • Cook may not be the most effective pass-blocker (his 2016 92.8 pass-block efficiency ranked 55th in the class), but should see much of his work on first and second downs where most of his value lies.
