Cooper Kupp is battling a hamstring injury

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp left practice early Tuesday with a hamstring injury. ESPN’s Adam Schefter gave an update early Wednesday morning, suggesting the Rams star will be shut down for at least a few weeks.

Hamstring injuries in camp/early on in the season are always scary because they tend to linger throughout the season. Last year, Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen suffered a hamstring injury in the season opener and missed the following five games. He aggravated the injury in Week 7, forcing him out of another two.

Kupp has been the highest-graded wide receiver (93.1) over the last two seasons. The Rams are thin behind Kupp in terms of depth at the wide receiver position, so they will need to be extremely cautious over the next month heading into the season opener against Seattle on Sept. 10.

Alvin Kamara expected to be suspended

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara will likely serve a suspension for an incident that took place in Las Vegas back in February 2022. The length of the suspension is still unclear at this point and won’t be determined until Kamara meets with Commissioner Roger Goodell on Wednesday.

Kamara has graded among the top 10 running backs in three of his six seasons with the Saints. Jamaal Williams now gets a chance to step up for New Orleans, fresh off his league-leading 17 rushing touchdowns with the Detroit Lions last season.

Bijan Robinson is impressing as a pass-catcher

Running back Bijan Robinson has been a standout performer early on in training camp for the Atlanta Falcons. Expectations are high for the 2023 eighth overall pick — he will likely be the focal point of the Falcons’ offense not only on the ground but through the air, as well.

Robinson’s receiving ability is an underrated aspect of his game. He is capable of winning one-on-one against opposing defenders, whether it’s linebackers or cornerbacks.

He was not utilized often as a receiver last season at Texas (19 receptions), but he didn't drop a single pass and caught four of his six deep targets (20-plus yards downfield), including two contested balls.

Bijan Robinson is going to make his fantasy football owners very happy this season.

Rookie cornerback Riley Moss out for training camp

Denver Broncos rookie cornerback Riley Moss will miss the rest of training camp following core muscle surgery. Moss, a third-round pick in April, is expected to recover in time for the season opener against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sept. 10.

Moss played 2,606 career snaps at Iowa and earned coverage grades over 75.0 in each of the past four seasons. The Broncos have one of the deeper and more talented secondaries in the NFL, and they ranked second league-wide in coverage grade (89.9) last season.

Teven Jenkins leaves practice with injury

Chicago Bears starting left guard Teven Jenkins left practice Wednesday with an undisclosed injury and was replaced by Alex Leatherwood. Jenkins has battled injuries over his first two seasons in the NFL, appearing in just 19 games (13 in 2022).

Jenkins ranked third among 77 qualifying guards in overall grade last season (82.2). His presence is crucial to the development of third-year quarterback Justin Fields.
